This brewery is situated in what was once the town power station, and its high ceilings and large windows provide a striking backdrop for the gleaming stainless steel machinery. This painting is based on a photo taken by the brewery team, of the Brasserie at dawn and the town streets beyond.
Temple Saint Jean, 2022
This painting was created to celebrate the church’s anniversary. In typical La Chaux-de-Fonds’ fashion, it is pictured in bright sunshine, above a blanket of white snow.
The dahu is a mythical creature local to Neuchâtel’s Jura mountains. It is said to have two long legs and two short, because it always walks in the same direction. To capture it, walk up behind it and call its name, and it will unbalance, falling down the mountainside!
This statue by local artists Plonk & Replonk was unveiled to mark the 100th anniversary of the Bois de Petit Chateau, now Muzoo. Its shining textures and fun concept made it very tempting to paint.
The White House
This painting depicts a summer view of La Maison Blanche, one of Le Corbusier’s architectural designs and one of La Chaux-de-Fonds’ most celebrated landmarks.
The Old Stables
This work was created for a competition held by the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds in May 2020, and won 3rd prize. It was subsequently exhibited in situ, see more on the Exhibitions page.
