On the 24th July 2023, the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds was hit by a sudden, unexpected hurricane which left a wake of personal and material devastation. In particular, hundreds of mature trees were ripped from the ground or irreparably damaged.
This painting marks an attempt by the artist to begin to digest the feelings of loss and grief, as many of the parks of her adopted town have been damaged in a way which cannot be undone during her lifetime.
