Dahu Statue, Muzoo La Chaux-de-Fonds. Watercolour and felt tip on A5 paper, October 2021.

The dahu is a mythical creature local to Neuchâtel’s Jura mountains. It is said to have two long legs and two short, because it always walks in the same direction. To capture it, walk up behind it and call its name, and it will unbalance, falling down the mountainside!

This statue by local artists Plonk & Replonk was unveiled to mark the 100th anniversary of the Bois de Petit Chateau, now Muzoo. Its shining textures and fun concept made it very tempting to paint.
